Great Lakes Paddlers
About Great Lakes Paddlers
We hold both formal and informal paddles. The formal paddles are listed on our public calendar, which you’ll find on this page. Our private Facebook group is a space where we talk among ourselves and arrange more informal get-togethers. During the warmer months, there are usually several paddles a week. Check the calendar as the informal paddles are usually posted there too.
Based in southeastern Michigan, we enjoy access to the many wonderful lakes and rivers our area affords us.
Great Lakes Paddlers was formed in the early 90s. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the enjoyment of canoeing and kayaking The club is committed to conserving waterways and promoting access to those waterways for all.

Why Join Great Lakes Paddlers?
Our Formal paddles are the closest thing on the water to a “sure thing”. Routes are scouted out ahead of time; we don’t guess about things like “is there a good place to put your boat in the water”
We have club boats available (2 kayaks and 1 canoe) giving you the opportunity to bring a friend that doesn’t own a boat. (membership IS limited to those who own a Kayak or canoe of some kind)
We have lots of experienced, skilled members. Joining us is a great way to improve your skills in a friendly, non-judgmental setting.
Joining gets you access to our Facebook Group, where you can post, talk paddling, and meet up with other kayakers and canoeists to paddle all over southeastern Michigan
The cost of a year’s membership is only $15.00 (with discounts for family memberships)
